Sorghum bicolor (100-110 days) An open-pollinated, early maturing, gorgeous red sorghum bred for cold tolerance. Works well as a living fence or trellis for pole beans! Excellent standability and drought tolerance. Lush green plant with beautiful dark, red grain heads. Grows quickly up to 8 feet tall! The heads of the sorghum can be harvested for livestock and bird feed, or left standing to attract birds during winter months.
Growing Notes
Plant seeds 1 inch deep, 3 inches apart when soil temperatures reach 55-60°F. If using as a living fence, sow in a row right next to your beans. Best if sown by the end of May. Will produce mature grain in 100-110 days.
