The St. Michael Chaplet is a powerful devotion honoring St. Michael the Archangel and the nine choirs of angels. Traditionally associated with a private revelation to the Portuguese Carmelite nun Antónia d’Astónaco, the chaplet consists of nine salutations honoring St. Michael together with each of the nine angelic choirs.

This Runewood interpretation draws heavily upon the martial character of St. Michael. Dark cherry stained wood beads give the chaplet a deep blood-red tone, contrasted against black Ice Obsidian gemstones and black cord. The result is stark, militant, and unmistakably Michaeline.

At its center is an Italian-made St. Michael centerpiece finished with vivid red enamel, depicting the Prince of the Heavenly Host in his victory over the enemy. The red centerpiece ties directly into the dark cherry wood while standing sharply against the black beads and cord.

An Italian-made Nails Crucifix completes the design. Its austere form recalls the instruments of Christ’s Passion and places the entire devotion where Christian spiritual warfare belongs: beneath the victory of the Cross.
