Asparagus officinalis Viking KB-3 is said to be the best asparagus overall for cold-climate growing. An open-pollinated selection from ‘Mary Washington’ developed in Ontario, Canada. Yields better and much superior to its parent; sporting vigorous growth and heavy yields. Perfect choice for asparagus lovers everywhere!!!

Growing Notes
Requires 2-3 years from seed to harvest; once established, this perennial needs very little maintenance. Seeds take up to 3 weeks to germinate. Can be sown indoors 10 to 14 weeks before the target set-out date, after the danger of frost. Start in full sun with adequate water in rich, well-drained soil. Sow 1/2” deep. After last frost, plant in an outdoor bed in full sun with rich soil 2-3 feet apart in each direction and 2-3 inches deep.

  • We are able to ship seeds to addresses within the United States and its territories and to addresses within Canada.
  • Shipping rates will be calculated through the USPS Postal Service.
  • North Dakota and Minnesota customers will be charged sales tax.
  • Our standard order turnaround time is 1 business day from the date of your order. If you need expedited shipping, please call us to place your order.
EXPEDITED SHIPPING                            We can arrange to ship U.S. orders via 2-day shipping. Charges for orders sent with expedited shipping will be based on actual freight charges. Please call us at 701-883-4416 for a quote. Most orders placed before 11:00 a.m. CST will ship the same day. You will receive tracking info for the shipment via email. TRACKING YOUR ORDER  When you check out, if you provide us with an email address we will send you an email when your package is mailed. That email will include a tracking number so you can track its delivery.  On the day of delivery you will receive an email stating your package has been delivered. If you do not receive your package, please notify us within 30-days and follow-up with your local post office and carrier.  They scan every package at the delivery point and most scanners have a GPS tracker, so they can tell where they were when they scanned the package. Please help us help you by contacting us as soon as anything goes wrong, so we can help find your package and get it to you ASAP! We back our seed with our full guarantee. We want you to be 100% happy with the seed that you buy from us. *If any seed you buy from Prairie Road proves to be unsatisfactory, we will either replace the item or refund the purchase price, whichever you prefer. In keeping with the custom of the seed trade, Prairie Road Organic Seeds shall not be liable for more than the purchase price of the seed. Prairie Road Organic Seeds does not cover return shipping costs. All special orders are non-refundable. REFUNDS We will notify you once we’ve received your request, and let you know when your refund is approved. You’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
